1. What a cookie is

A cookie is a small file placed on your device when you consult a page. It allows a piece of information to persist between visits — for example the language you chose, or your decision about trackers.

2. Strictly necessary cookies

These trackers are essential to the operation of the publication and cannot be refused. They store your language choice (French or English) and your answer to the consent banner, so that it is not shown again on every page. They serve no advertising purpose and are not shared with third parties.

3. Audience measurement cookies

Subject to your agreement, we may place audience measurement trackers to understand which reviews are consulted and to improve navigation. The data collected is aggregated and is not used to identify you individually. These trackers are placed only after your explicit consent.

4. Advertising cookies

We place no behavioural advertising trackers. We do not sell any browsing data to a data broker.

5. Third-party trackers

When you open an operator’s domain from one of our links, that operator may place its own trackers, governed by its own policy. We have no control over those. Please consult the policy of the operator concerned.

6. Refusing or changing your choice

You can refuse non-essential trackers from the banner shown on arrival. You can revisit your decision at any time using the “Cookie preferences” button in the footer. You can also configure your browser to block or delete cookies; some functions, such as remembering your language, will then stop working.

7. Retention

The cookie recording your consent choice is kept for a maximum of six months, in line with the recommendation of the French data protection authority (CNIL). After that period the banner is shown again.
